What is Sea Cadets? The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC) is a U.S. Navy-based youth organization that serves to teach persons 13 to 18 years old about the sea-going military services, community service, citizenship, and an understanding of discipline and teamwork. A younger version of the NSCC, the Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC), exists for youths between the ages of 11 and 13.
Although both Sea Cadets and League Cadets do similar training and work within our same unit, there are some differences designed to be age appropriate based on physical and maturity differences among the differing ages.
Both young men and women are encouraged to join. The USNSCC/NLCC are carefully regulated and monitored to ensure appropriate supervision, screening and training of adult leaders and staff. We have a zero tolerance policy for harassment, substance abuse and require that all cadets, leaders and staff are of high moral character.
Interested? - Click on the "How to Join" link on the left of the page to see the requirements and procedure for joining. There you can also download the paperwork required, and contact the Public Affairs Officer/Recruitment Director (ENS Jeremy Rodrigues, USCG-R) for any questions that arise.
Interested adults - get back more than you give. Working as an adult volunteer is very intense and requires a lot of commitment and dedication. If you think you have what it takes to be part of the professional volunteers to work with these outstanding young women and men, use the Contact page to inquire with the Commanding Officer of the Gunfighter Squadron. Note that all adults leaders and staff will undergo extensive background and security checks through National Headquarters.
US Navy Sea Cadets and Navy League Cadet Corps is a program sponsored by the Navy League, please show your support to the Navy League by becoming a member.
